This month, I explored the more creative part of video. I want to start a theme of food that goes generations back. I filmed a sample video, playing around with the focus and different angles I made my Nana's toffee. I chose this for the subject of my video because I wanted to try something fun and new. It was the first time using that camera and I decided to go the run route, exploring different settings and adjustments the camera provided. The lesson I learned was that I need to manage time more wisely and storyboard with more detail. I fell behind this project because I didn't get a shot of the finished product. I also learned a lot about the camera and cool and unique things you can do with it. My plan to have a video produced every month is to always look for stories about people around me and have a back up plan. I also want to go the baking route this semester, interview different bakeries and go "behind the scenes". I hope I produce good material and meet deadlines and expectations for now on. I look forward to surprising, and hopefully impressing myself and more importantly, my instructor.
See you on the flip side, Jen Trau
